Both amber altars are worked in the round in the incrustation technique combining amber cabochons (partly adorned with intaglio on the backside) and ivory carvings of high quality. Comparable amber works at the Kunstkammer of castle Rosenborg in Copenhagen and in the Treasury of the Munich Residenz.
