embroidered with nine golden five-clawed dragons confronting flaming pearls against a turquoise ground accentuated with ruyi-shaped clouds, bats, bajixiang emblems, lotus and peony blooms, all above crashing waves and a lishui border; 140 cm, 55 1/8 in.
Provenance: Purchased by the owner's great grandfather in Beijing in 1901, by repute.
