the body of ovoid form with short straight neck, painted around the exterior with twelve blue and white quatrefoil panels enclosing landscape scenes with pagodas, all reserved on an imari-palette ground of blossoming peony branches, the domed cover similarly decorated and surmounted by a lotus-bud finial.
