de forme traditionnelle rouleau avec un col évasé, le contour décoré en différents tons de bleu sous couverte, d'une scène continue d'un personnage de cour accompagné de sa voiture et et son cortège de quatre serviteurs, présentant un rouleau à un jeune homme qui tient un buffle par une corde et le salue révérencieusement en retour.

Note: Another rolwagen with a similar decoration, from the Butler family Collection is illustrated in Julia B.Curtis Chinese porcelains of the 17th century, landscapes, scholar's motifs and narratives, University of Washington press, China Institue gallery, New York city 1995 no.60 p.142. As identified by Dr.Curtis, the scene depicts the Emperor Yao, the first king of the mythical China's Golden Age, asking Xu You, a sage here depicted in the appearance of a young cowherd, to assume the reins of government.
