The sturdily potted bowl has a band of twenty 'nail-head' bosses applied between bow-string borders, and a further sixteen bosses above the threeruyi-form feet. The bowl is well potted with deep, rounded sides rising from a low, spreading foot to a slightly inverted rim, and is covered overall with an even glaze of pale, milky blue color thinning to a mushroom tone at the rim and stopping above the unglazed brownish-grey foot, Japanese wood box.

The shallow dish is well potted with rounded sides rising to the slightly inverted rim encircled on the exterior by a finger-molded band. The dish is covered overall with a pale lavender-blue glaze which thins to mushroom at the rim, and continues onto the countersunk base which has five spur marks, Japanese wood box.
