Note: Guan Yin, commonly known in English as the Goddess of mercy, is one of the Trinities from the west associated with compassion. The face of a Guan Yin must be clean and perfectly symmetrical, with well-proportioned features and an unostentatious posture, evoking a sense of tranquility. To be offered in this lot is a magnificent jadeite Guan Yin of impressive size, matched with excellent color, translucency and texture, in addition to a flawless portrayal of the merciful Guan Yin, exuding an unworldly charm filled with blessings and kind wishes. The Budai monk, nicknamed laughing Buddha, is usually identified with or seen as an incarnation of Maitreya, the future Buddha. It is adored all over the world for its lightheartedness, joy and sparkling energy. Its laugh is a representation of both contentment and abundance of good fortune, which is matched by this combination of bright and vivid color, fine texture, and size of this meticulously carved jadeite piece.

The necklace designed as a series of briolette diamond hoop-links, suspending at the front a fringe of seven graduated circular-cut emeralds altogether weighing 52.38 carats, surmounted with briolette diamond double hoops and spaced by a brilliant-cut diamonds; the earrings en suite, set with 4.59 and 5.73 carat round emerald pendants, to the diamond briolette double hoop link and brilliant-cut diamond, mounted in 18K gold, necklace 37.5cm long, ear pendant 4.0cm long.

Along with rubies, sapphires, and diamonds, emerald is one of the world’s most highly prized gemstones. Its vibrant green hues have captivated people’s imaginations through the centuries, from ancient Pharaohs to Spanish and Portuguese Conquistadors. Today, Colombian emeralds prevail in market dominance with its unprecedented color and fine quality. It provides a quality standard which all other emeralds are judged against. Due to the extreme conditions where emeralds crystalize and its internal structure, it is almost impossible for emerald crystals to appear large and clear. Emeralds are cut in many shapes, mostly in emerald cut due the structure of rough. LOT 2119 is an extremely rare and unique emerald set in circular-cut where it displays advantages in improving the refractive quality of the emerald, giving it more sparkle. Presenting total nine sizable circular-shaped Colombian emeralds weighing 62.70 carats altogether, each weighing from 4.56 carats to 9.93 carats. The color of which is graded as green and perfectly matching set. The existence of such a rare treasure is in effect extraordinary, making it a true connoisseur’s gem.
