The vase is finely potted in the form of a book scroll. One end of the scroll has an opening to the vase and is enamelled with a pink diamond diaper ground. The other end of the scroll is decorated with branches bearing magnolia and inscribed with a two-line poem written in seven-character stanza. The underside is enamelled pink and pierced for suspension, box.
