The bowl is delicately potted with flared sides that curve inwards just below the rim. It is covered inside and out except for the foot and base, with a dark brown glaze with buff splashes highlighted with bluish-white suffusions, Japanese wood box.

Provenance: Acquired by the vendor's family in Europe prior to 1975, then by descent within the family.
