of particularly large cylindrical form, rising to a waisted neck and lipped rim, vividly painted in bright famille-verte enamels with a continuous lakeside landscape scene depicting scholars, court ladies, attendants and boys engaged in various leisurely pursuits, amidst dwellings scattered amid lush vegetation including tall pine trees, paulownia, bamboo and willow and dramatic mountain peaks rising in the distance under the shining sun, all beside a calm rippling lake on which fisherman prepare their sails and cast their fishing nets, the base left unglazed.
