In 1991, Dr T. T. Tsui invited his friend, famous artist Huang Yongyu to visit his first private Museum "The Tsui Museum" in Hong Kong and gifted Huang a copy of the collection catalogue as souvenir. While the artist opened the catalogue, he was captivated by nine lively antique potteries with a sense of humor among the many treasures. They inspired him to create an album for them as a return of the friendship with Dr Tsui.

The name of this album "A Glimpse of Tsui's Collection" is a metaphor of the huge collection of Dr Tsui, which means this album reflects only a small group of his marvelous amount of treasures. Friendship between Dr Tsui and Huang Yongyu began by appreciation of each other's strength. Huang Yongyu was astonished by Dr Tsui's taste and insight, equally admiration went to Huang by Dr Tsui of his talent and his whims naive calligraphy and paintings.

The exhibition will display the album and seven precious funerary potteries from the Han and Tang dynasties. Being evidence of the lavish burials, they reflect the prevailing social customs and livelihoods. With the album as the prelude, we will observe the interaction between paintings and artifacts, and the sincere friendship between collector and artist.
