The ewer is sturdily potted with a tapering globular body rising to the tall cylindrical neck with flared mouth rim, that is flanked by a double-strap handle and angled spout, and is covered with a white slip under a clear glaze that ends irregularly on the slightly flared foot to expose the fine buff ware, Japanese wood box.
