The ewer has a tall, ribbed neck rising to a wide, everted rim, and an upright slightly curved and faceted spout opposite the strap handle, and is covered overall with a white slip under a clear glaze that ends irregularly above the splayed foot to expose the pale grey ware, Japanese wood box.
