The dish has shallow, rounded sides that rise from a slightly tapered foot to an everted rim formed as six shaped petals, all covered in a glaze of soft blue-green color that also covers the base.
Provenance: Acquired in September 1964.
Note: Compare the Southern Song Longquan celadon dish of similar size, but with barbs centering the shaped petals, sold at Christie’s New York, 18-19 September 2014, lot 844, and another Longquan dish with barbed, petal-shaped rim, in the Percival David Foundation, illustrated by M. Medley in the Illustrated Catalogue of Celadon Wares, 1977, pl. V, 47.
