Rising from a slightly flared foot to high rounded shoulders, surmounted by a waisted neck and rounded mouth rim, covered overall with a lustrous turquoise-blue glaze, pooling neatly above the foot ring and base of the neck.
Provenance: a European private collection and thence by descent.
Note: Turquoise is among the rarest of glaze colours found on marked Imperial monochromes. A turquoise-glazed meipingvase, 18th century, in the National Palace Museum, Taipei, is illustrated in Catalogue of the Special Exhibition of K'ang-hsi, Yung-cheng and Ch'ien-lung Porcelain Ware from the Ch'ing Dynasty in the National Palace Museum, Taipei, 1986, no.25.
