Lot 596. A famille verte dish with dragon and phoenix motif, Qing dynasty, Kangxi (1662-1722). Diameter 36,7 cm. Estimate 2 406 € / 2 887 €. Lot sold 2 817 €. © Bukowskis The central medallion is vigorously decorated with a large scaly dragon facing a long-tailed phoenix – both surrounded by stylised ruyi-shaped clouds and red flames. Lot 595. A famille verte charger, Qing dynasty, Kangxi (1662-1722). Diameter 37,5 cm. Estimate 1 732 € / 2 117 €. Lot sold 3 108 €. © Bukowskis With a broad flat, scalloped rim, painted with a ground of wickerwork in red with eight roundels formed by a flying crane. In between the roundels are half – ruyi motifs and semicircular panels with flowers, positioned opposite each other. The crane itself is an auspicious symbol, representing longevity and wisdom.
