Lot sold 3 302€. © Bukowskis On a splayed foot with the pear shaped body rising to a high and narrow neck. The body is decorated with two creatures above forming waves and flower sprays, whilst the neck has ribbons and pointed plantain leaves. Two blue and white 'Ling Long' bowls, Qing dynasty, Kangxi (1662-1722).

Lot 615. Two blue and white 'Ling Long' bowls, Qing dynasty, Kangxi (1662-1722). Diameter 8 cm. Estimate 2 117 € / 2 887 €. Lot sold 2 137 €. © Bukowskis The pair of small bowls are constructed with a double wall - the outer wall having been cut and carved before firing in a decorative process known as “ling long” or “devils-work”. Lot sold 2 428 €. © Bukowskis The rim on the inside of the bowl is decorated with blossoming prunus reserved on a blue cracked-ice background. The design evokes the beautiful blossom of the plum whilst it is still winter - the cracking ice being the first signs of spring.
