Lot 457. A pair of famille-verte ovoid jars, Qing dynasty, Kangxi period (1662-1722); 21.5 cm, 8 1/2  in. Estimate £4,000 - £6,000. Sold: £9,375. © Sotheby's 

each brightly enamelled around the exterior with a ram and a hound divided by a bird in flight, all within a rocky landscape, the shoulder with cusped panels enclosing birds and animals reserved on a trellis-diaper band, later pierced wood covers.
