the interior finished with a thick ridge below the rim, covered overall with a lustrous brown-black glaze suffused with a dense pattern of silver 'oil-spots', thinning at the rim and continuing over the upper half of the exterior, the lower body and base applied with a thin teadust-brown glaze, the foot unglazed.
Provenance: Eskenazi Ltd., London, 1987.
The dating of this lot is consistent with the result of a thermoluminescence test, Oxford Authentication Ltd., sample no. 466x27.
