the curved flaring sides resting on a short foot, painted to the exterior with four iron-red lotus blooms borne on undulating leafy stems above a lappet band, the interior decorated with a central medallion enclosing a single lotus spray, inscribed to the base with a six-character reign mark within a double-circle, Japanese wood box.
