The bowl has rounded conical sides and is molded on the interior with four peony blooms surrounded by scrolling foliage. The bowl is covered with a glaze of ivory tone below the metal-mounted rim, and there is some pink and grey staining to the glaze below the rim on the exterior, Japanese wood box

Both the box and cover are covered inside and out with a clear glaze that ends above the flat base to expose the fine white ware. The interior rims are left unglazed, Japanese wood box.

The bowl has deep, rounded sides and is raised on a small, circular foot. The interior is carved with a graceful, leafy stem bearing a large flower below the unglazed rim. The bowl is covered inside and out with a glaze of ivory tone that continues over the foot onto the flat base.

Of shallow form with a slightly everted rim, the dish is freely carved in the interior with a leafy stem bearing a peony blossom with combed details, and covered allover in a greyish-green glaze, wood box

The guardian is modeled standing on top of a demon with flailing arms, with his head turned to the left, the right hand raised to hold a weapon and the left hand on the hip. The figure is shown wearing a shawl draped around her shoulders that falls in long folds over her clasped hands. The delicate features of her face are detailed in black and red pigment, and her hair is pulled up in a tall coiffure.

The horse is shown standing foursquare on a rectangular base with its head gently turned to the right and ears pricked forward. The saddle and halter are glazed in green and the body is covered with a rich amber glaze which runs down the legs, darkening to a deep brown. The mane and forelock are highlighted in a straw glaze, wood stand.
