of bean form, the concave upper surface subtly sloped, the sides with foliate designs in low relief, covered overall in an ivory-colored glaze, the glaze cut away on the upper surface leaving a lush blossoming lotus bordered by a band of foliate scroll all in reserve, the central motif accented by the underlying layer of chocolate-brown glaze, two small apertures to the base.
