The vase is decorated with two panels, one with a scene of Liu Hai standing on a broom floating on the sea while luring his toad with a string of coins, the other with one of the Eight Immortals, Li Tieguai, standing on his cane floating on the sea and holding a double gourd, from which issues vapor and the immortal, Lan Caihe, who pours flowers from his basket into the sea, all on a rich coral ground.
