animatedly carved in the form of a smiling boy with his head turned gently towards his back looking at a Buddhist lion rearing its tail, the beast finely detailed with combed fur, bulging eyes and flaring nostrils, its mouth grasping a long ribbon tied to a brocade ball supported on the boy’s raised left arm, the stone of a pale celadon tone with caramel-russet inclusions.
