One plaque has two seals reading Yu Zhao and Youlin ke and the other has three seals reading Feichang hua and Youlin ke. Zhu Youlin, a renowned master of porcelain carving during the first half of the twentieth century, firstly worked in the Imperial Workshop and rose to fame in Beijing after 1911. He won a number of prizes and collaborated with some masters of traditional Chinese painting, including Zhang Daqian (1899-1983) and Yu Fei’an (1888-1959), carved wood stands.
