Heavily potted, the ovoid body is decorated with a continuous scene of the birthday celebration of Xiwangmu, the Queen Mother of the West, shown holding a tray of peaches as she descends on a phoenix towards a gathering of Shoulao, the Eight Daoist Immortals, Magu and attendants in her boat, and various other female attendants and immortals. All are between ruyi and petal-lappet borders below the turquoise-ground neck decorated on each side with composite flower scroll sprays below a gilt shou character and flanked by a pair of blue and white dragon-form handles.
