The bowl has a widely flared, rounded conical body and is finely carved in the interior with a graceful single lotus stem. The interior and exterior are covered below the unglazed rim, which is cut with six notches, with a glaze of ivory tone that continues over the shallow ring foot to cover the base, Japanese wood box.

ProvenancePrivate family collection, Japan, acquired in the late Meiji/early Taisho period (1867-1925).
