the flat circular cover surmounted by a whimsical lion molded with an engaging expression on its face, seated with its front paw raised and head playfully turned, its body hollowed and pierced with three holes, supported on the censer shaped as a lotus blossom pierced with two further holes, borne on a waisted pedestal, all covered with a pale sea-foam green glaze that thickens in the recessed areas adding a sense of depth.
