a scarf draped over the figure’s right shoulder, his bare chest adorned with a torque, necklace and string of amulets; his face with elongated eyes beneath arched brows, bearing a gentle expression; his hair drawn above his head in a braided chignon adorned with a jeweled fillet, the face and shoulders framed by a halo, stand, Japanese wood box (3).
Provenance: Japanese Collection, acquired before the 1960s.
