The deep sides decorated with four phoenixes in blue, pink, yellow and green, in flight between four different flowers, all between gilt borders.
Provenance: Acquired in the 1980s.
Note: A famille rose enameled bowl of the same pattern and almost identical size (21.1 cm.) is illustrated in The Official Kiln Porcelain of the Chinese Qing Dynasty, Shanghai, 2003, p. 389. A Tongzhi-marked bowl, also of closely related size and with the same decoration, was sold in these rooms, 26 March 2010, lot 1450.
