The deep sides decorated with four phoenixes in blue, pink, yellow and green, in flight between four different flowers, all between gilt borders

ProvenanceAcquired in the 1980s.

NoteA famille rose enameled bowl of the same pattern and almost identical size (21.1 cm.) is illustrated in The Official Kiln Porcelain of the Chinese Qing Dynasty, Shanghai, 2003, p. 389. A Tongzhi-marked bowl, also of closely related size and with the same decoration, was sold in these rooms, 26 March 2010, lot 1450.
