The squat pear-shaped body standing on a slightly-flaring foot, moulded around the neck with lotus petals rising from a raised band, all under an even pale glaze thining to white on the extremities, the base and interior white.

Note: Taocheng Jushi (Taocheng the Buddhist Layman) is one of the sorbriques of Tang Ying, the renowned supervisor of the Imperial Kiln in Jingdezhen. The mark on the present vase is probably an attribution to him.
