Well carved as a large magnolia blossom borne on a branch that forms the openwork base and rises up the sides where it bears further blossoms and buds and forms the openwork handle at one end, with a single stamen carved in high relief in the center of the interior below the overlapping petals, wood stand.
Provenance: From the collection of Ethel Gunton Douglas, acquired in the 1920s-30s.
