The dried lingzhi is of trumpet form attached to its short stalk. The uneven upper surface is created by its characteristic contoured rings surrounding a gentle indentation at the centre. It is mounted on a later wood stand, inscribed on the underside with the collector's mark, Lezhiyuan cang, Collection of Lezhiyuan.
