the deep rounded sides rising from a short straight foot to a slightly everted rim, finely enamelled around the exterior with four medallions enclosing auspicious fruits, flowers and red and yellow lozenges, divided by lotus flowers and foliage all reserved on a rich ruby sgraffiato ground, the interior painted in underglaze blue with a medallion enclosing a vase issuing flowers and encircled by floral sprays, lingzhi and geometric lozenges, the base inscribed with an underglaze blue six-character seal mark.
