well modelled as a flattened conch shell, with stepped layers depicting the concentric cone shape, the exterior textured with numerous spots under a pale sea-green glaze, the opening of the shell formed as the interior of the washer, painted in sepia with a scene of the seabed surrounded by gilt outlines, the underside inscribed with a six-character mark in underglaze blue.
