The tapering ovoid body is molded with elaborate lotus sprays incorporating two bats positioned above shou characters that alternate with two flower heads on the upper body, all between a petal-lappet border below and a ruyi collar on the shoulder above. The neck is encircled by a band of upright leaves. The vase is covered overall, including the base, with a glaze of dark sea-green color. The reduced neck is fitted with a Japanese silver mount.
