boldly carved with a deep rounded body rising to a narrow rounded shoulder and a galleried rim, all supported on three animal mask legs, the sides finely carved in low relief with two large archaistic taotie masks interrupted by raised vertical flanges, further interrupted by smaller taotie masks and a pair of phoenix loop handles suspending loose rings, the domed cover similarly encircled by taotie masks and raised flanges, surmounted by a curled dragon finial, the stone of a dark green colour with lighter veining and black flecks.
