Of cylindrical form, the slightly wasted body incised with a long inscription by Chen Hongshou, also known as Manweng, recording his second son's birth and a poem, signed by the artist in the year of Bingzi, corresponding to 1816, the wood of dark reddish-brown colour and with characteristic veins.
Provenance: Acquired from state-owned antique shop, 1990s (by repute)
