vibrantly painted around the exterior of the vessel on one side with six officials visiting a seated dignitary and a lady in an open courtyard with rockwork and pine shrubs, the reverse with mountainous cliffs, pine trees and cloud scrolls, the base inscribed with a six-character reign mark within a double circle, the cover decorated with peony branches encircling the sides and a reclining scholar on the top.
