Vigorously painted with a scholar and page boy on a mountain top, the exterior with floral sprays and birds, the base with an apocryphal Hongwu reign mark.

The saucer is enamelled with immortals in the mirror, the caveto is decorated with clouds and Shou characters alternately, the outside is decorated with eight free-standing floral tendrils.
Provenance: From an important private collection in southern Germany, collected between 1950 and 1987.

PARIS- L’exposition Peindre hors du monde présente du 5 novembre 2021 au 6 mars 2022 un ensemble de plus de cent chefs-d’œuvre de la peinture chinoise ancienne.
