Provenance: Meiyintang Collection, Switzerland.

Published: Kang Ruijun, The Maine Hall Collection of Chinese Ceramics, Volume 2, London, 1994-2010, p. 357, no. 1807.

Note: This is a rare monochrome glazed example of the early Qianlong imperial porcelain style, which is elegant and elegant in its simplicity and integrity. This is a low-temperature glaze created at Jingdezhen during the Hongzhi period, and it was not until the Kang Yong period that a more pure and beautiful colour was developed, and there are few surviving examples, only small plates, bowls and vases, all of which are small and beautiful. In the Qing dynasty, the pottery of Jingdezhen is described in volume 3 of the Lanpu Collection as 'a purple glaze made from black lead powder with stone blue and stone powder'. The glaze is rich and lustrous, with flashes of blue in the purple, and the colour is as brilliant as the original.
