Lot 5. A Yellow Jade 'Grain' Disc, Bi, Warring States Period-Han Dynasty (475 BC-220 AD); 12.1cm (4 6/8in) diamEstimate 3 000 € - 5 000 €. Sold for €14,025Photo Fabrice Gousset.

Finely carved in relief to each side with evenly spaced 'spiral grain' bosses, between narrow raised bands to the inner and outer rims, the finely polished stone of yellowish green tone with some areas of creamy russet inclusions.

Provenance: Robert Rousset, Paris (1901-1981), acquired prior to 1935
Jean-Pierre Rousset, Paris (1936-2021).

The circular disc with a large central aperture, crisply carved in relief to each side with neat rows of spiral 'grain bosses' within gently raised borders, the calcified stone of creamy beige hue.
