Of oval petal lobed form, set on a short foot carved with a large chrysanthemum flowerhead, each lobe finely carved to the exterior with a flower spray issuing leafy stems to each side, each long end with a flowerbud and demi leaf handle, the very pale semi-translucent stone polished to a high lustre, with some pale cloudy... The vessel with a loop handle and thumb-rest to one side carved with foliate scrolls, the body with an upper register of archaistic dragons and lower register of taotie masks, set on a short foot.

Robustly potted with a lightly convex well decorated with moulded design of double tree peony, rising to the fluted sides and barbed foliate rim, covered overall with an even sea-green glaze except for an unglazed ring around the base burnt orange, raised on a short inverted foot.
