Inscription: On a summer day of jiwei year, I found this hollyhocks painting in an old bamboo chest, which I painted in gengzi year. Twenty years have passed since then, and this painting was executed when I first entered a new phase of stylistic and technical changes. Inscribed by Cheng Shifa in Shanghai.
