New York – Bonhams presents a magnificent private collection of jewelry from a Southern Californian owner featuring 120 lots from leading fine jewelry houses including Mauboussin, Tiffany & Co., Cartier, Chopard, Boucheron, LEVIEV, Bvlgari, De Grisgono and Van Cleef & Arpels. The Perfect Jewelry Box: Jewels from an Impressive Southern California Collection spans the decades from Art Deco to modern contemporary. The jewelry will be sold at Bonhams New York on March 8.

Leading the sale is a magnificent LEVIEV platinum diamond ring set with an emerald-cut type IIa diamond of D color, VVS1 clarity, weighing approximately 35.00 carats, signed LEVIEV. The spectacular ring is offered with an estimate of US$1,700,000-2,500,000.

Accompanied by GIA report stating that the diamond is D color, VVS1 clarity. Report no. 2225746340, dated 8 December 2022.

Accompanied by GIA Type Classification letter stating that the diamond is type IIa, dated January 18, 2023.

A significant, Art Deco gem-set, diamond, and enamel tassel necklace by Mauboussin, France, circa 1920. The Art Deco pendant necklace is composed of alternating cylindrical black enamel links, ruby rondelle beads and platinum plaques of a budding flower design set with rubies, sapphires, emeralds, and amethysts, suspending a dramatic tassel featuring a ruby rondelle beads and a half cabochon emerald. Offered with an estimate of US$150,000-250,000.

Composed of alternating cylindrical black enamel links, ruby rondelle beads and platinum plaques of a budding flower design set with rubies, sapphires, emeralds and amethysts, is finished with single-cut diamonds; suspending a tassel featuring a ruby rondelle, a half cabochon emerald and rose, single and transitional-cut diamonds; completed by graduated ruby rondelle beads; signed Mauboussin, no. 165, with French assay marks; estimated total diamond weight approximately 2.15 carats; mounted in platinum; chain length 24 in., tassel measures 3 x 2in.; accompanied by signed case

A pair of important Cartier Art Deco diamond and emerald earrings, circa 1920. Each earring comprises a cabochon teardrop-shaped emerald of Colombian origin, suspended from a series of graduated single-cut diamond-spherical connecting links. Offered with an estimate of US$50,000-80,000.

Each pendant comprising a cabochon teardrop-shaped emerald suspended from a series of graduated single-cut diamond articulated spherical links, to the bezel-set old European-cut diamond terminal; signed Cartier, Paris, no. 0287; estimated total diamond weight approximately 2.55 carats; length 2¼ in.

Accompanied by AGL report stating that the two emeralds of Colombian origin, with minor traditional clarity enhancement. Report no. 1128331 A and B, dated 12 December 2022.

An exceptional sapphire and diamond platinum ring the rectangular cut 24.00 carat sapphire is of Sri Lankan origin. The ring is offered with an estimate of US$200,000-300,000.
