Exposition Giovanni Bellini au Musée Jacquemart-André : Influences croisées
PARIS - Au printemps 2023, le Musée Jacquemart-André met à l’honneur l’œuvre du grand maître de la peinture Giovanni Bellini (v. 1430-1516), père de l’école vénitienne à laquelle appartiendront ses élèves Giorgione et Titien. Giovanni Bellini a ouvert la voie à un art de la couleur et du ton qui sera la marque du XVIe siècle vénitien.

The vase has an ovoid body that rises to a short, narrow neck with a wide flaring lip, and is covered overall with a lustrous brownish-black glaze speckled with russet mottling that ends above the foot.

Each pear-shaped vase is covered in a dark brown glaze and is decorated with two prunus sprigs in wax-resist technique with painted details and branches carved through the glaze.

The conical bowl is covered overall with a thick, lustrous black glaze finely streaked with silvery-brown 'hare's fur' markings, which thins to a matte russet-brown at the rim and pools in a line above the foot.
