Delft ceramics to be sold at Olympia Auctions

LONDON.- The european works of art auction taking place on 24th May by Olympia Auctions comprises 396 lots & includes five collections of enticing objects from Dutch delft to Russian and Greek icons. The property of a European Collector was assembled over twenty-five years ago by a gentleman of exquisite taste, and adorned an 18th century house in Covent Garden. The dining room was enlivened by Chinese, Japanese and Delft blue & white, arrayed on open shelves and coral brackets over black lacquer... Lot 34. An olive-green-glazed vase, Northern Qi-Sui Dynasty (550-618); 17.3cm high. Sold for £21,675 (Estimate £2,000 - 3,000). © Bonhams 2001-2023 Of elegant pear shape rising from a short tapered foot to a tapered neck terminating with a bulbous mouth, with four double-bow strings across the body, covered overall in a light-green glaze turning to amber-brown.  The result of Oxford thermoluminescence test number TL test C206g43 (8 January 2007) is consistent with the dating of this lot. ...
