Yuan/Ming Dynasty The dish deeply potted with an everted rim, covered all over with a thick lavender-blue glaze with large purple splashes thinning to a mushroom tone around the rim, stopping short of the well, leaving the foot ring burnt orange. 18.5cm (7¼in) diam. A rare Jizhou guri-style bowl. Northern Song Dynasty The ovoid body with six lines forming the lobed melon form, with a curved facetted spout surmounted by a rope-twist high loop handle formed of three strands issuing from three leaves with moulded floral designs, the top with a recessed rim around the small opening, covered with transparent ivory glaze stopping short of the unglazed rim and foot ring. 21.2cm (8¼in) high.
