Throne of Emperor Qianlong Breaks World Auction Record for Any Chinese Furniture

Photo: Sotheby's HONG KONG.- Today at Sotheby’s Hong Kong Fine Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art Autumn Sale 2009, an outstanding Imperial carved zitan ‘dragon’ throne of Qianlong period was sold for HK$85,780,000/US$11,068,193 to a bidder in the room, breaking the world auction record for any Chinese furniture. Sotheby's Hong Kong Autumn Sales : Fine Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art

Hong Kong, August 2009 Sotheby’s Hong Kong Autumn Sales 2009 will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 3 to 8 October 2009.
