The straight sides and interior are covered with a lustrous blackish-brown glaze decorated with stripes of matte russet glaze, which pools in a line on the exterior where the body tapers towards the knife-cut foot to expose the pale grey ware. 3 7/8 in. (9.8 cm.) diam. Estimate $3,000 - $5,000

The rounded, conical body is covered on the interior and upper exterior with a lustrous, variegated, blackish-brown glaze that is decorated on the interior with five russet splashes, and on the exterior falls in an irregular line atop a thin brown glaze that ends irregularly above the foot to expose the granular ware that has fired to a buff color. 7 1/8 in. The concave top is decorated with a peony spray within an incised foliate-shaped medallion and five demi-blossoms at the edge. All is painted in a rich dark brown slip on a white-slip ground and covered with a colorless glaze. There are two small vent holes in one side. 10 1/8 in. (25.7 cm.) - Estimate $8,000 - $12,000

The broad-shouldered, tapering body is covered overall with a lustrous dark bluish-black glaze, and elegantly painted in russet slip with a pair of long-necked birds, possibly geese or cranes, in flight on the shoulder below a small, double-ringed mouth. 7 7/8 in. The bowl has widely flared sides that rise from the small foot ring, and is covered allover with a luminous glaze of soft blue-green color suffused with gold-colored crackle, that is repeated on the inside of the foot and the slightly pointed base. 5 5/8 in.
