An Ilkhanide pottery star tile, Persia, early 14th century. Photo Sotheby's. moulded in relief and decorated in underglaze cobalt blue outlined in black with lotus head and rosette stem, white border; 20.2cm. diam. Estimation 2,000 — 3,000 GBP - Unsold. This tile belongs to the so-called Sultanabad group that takes many of the shapes and designs of the Kashan repertory and reworks them in an underglaze palette that prefigures the tilework of the Timurid period. The Cleveland Museum of Art opens new north wing gallery to the public
